Crosshair Formula V - RAM is "hardware reserved"

I'm pulling my hair out on this one.

    System Specs:
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Asus Crosshair Formula V
    Athlon X6 1090T cooled with Zalman CNPS9900Max
    G.Skill RipjawX DDR3 1600 16GB (F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL)
    MSI Radeon HD6950 Frozr II
Corsair 64GB SATA III SSD boot
    Western Digital Cavier 1TB data
Antec 900w High Current Gaming Series

Sometimes when I boot up the PC, the resource monitor/system properties reports a full 16GB of usable RAM. Sometimes it will crash shortly thereafter, and when it reboots, I'll have 16GB (7.96GB usable). It seems to be completely random, as sometimes when I boot up it starts with the 16/7.96, and other a full 16 but being completely stable; until I shut down/restart, then it will lock up after BIOS splash, and come back on with 16/7.96. I've updated driver, flashed the BIOS, enabled/disabled memory remapping, manually changed RAM settings to 1600@1.5V 9-9-9-24 and even tried 1333@1.6V 8-8-8-24. Still completely sporadic and ridiculous. A few times the BIOS reported 8GB of installed memory, but had all 4 DIMMs listed at 4096MB. I thought the sticks were bad, and tested each one individually, booted and ran memtest with all 4 with no errors/problems. I'm completely out of ideas, does anyone have any advice?

If you need screenshots of any diagnostic or settings please let me know.

The memory is not fully stable.

Stay on the latest UEFI build.

    Set the following:

    1) Set CPU/NB Voltage to 1.20V

    2) Set DRAM Voltage manually to the specified voltage of the DIMMs.

    3) Set Command Rate to 2T

    4) Set DRAM Read to Read Timing to 5.

Tried the memOK button when I first noticed the problem, still persists.

Raja, I tried those settings, and when it booted up everything was right. It locked up just a few seconds after I checked CPU-Z though and after the restart it reports 16/7.92 again. I've only had it stable with a full 16 once, but after a shutdown it didn't come back up right.

I have those DIMMs here with my 1100T and it works perfectly.

Check with two DIMMs first then (8GB), see if you can get the board stable with those settings. If you can (make sure it is 100% stable), then flash to latest beta BIOS and we will try again.

DRAM voltage for these modules should be 1.50V - make sure it is not on AUTO to 1.65V

I did have the voltage set to manual 1.5v (as per your instructions lol), I'll work on just 2 sticks for now. I'll update once it passes some stability tests.

I have the same problem. Well not the stability problems. But for me I have 16gbs of ram and 1.5gb is "Hardware Reserved". I'm not really sweating it honestly though. Kinda figured it might be a bios issue and I am using a beta bios soooo......

Just wanted to post that by enabling "memory hole remapping" gave me back all the RAM that was hardware reserved for me. Not sure why this is as I thought it was just a workaround for 32bit OS's. And this worked for me on both the 0052 and 0705 bios.

    Checked QVL

Raja, thanks for the provided solutions, although i think this is a compatibility problem.

I have the same MoBo and Mem, BIOS flashed to latest version, still no change.
Checked the QVL, and my mem is not in there.
I assumed it would function like it's 8gb sister, but i quess i'll have to be carefull
in the future with 'assuming'... just check the QVL when building a new pc can save a lot of time and problems.
