Just installed windows 8 on my M6E. Occasionally getting debug code 00. It is not with every boot. ?? What's this about? Thanks.

Does it halt at this QCODE? And are there anything showing on your screen?
Nothing shows on the screen, and it does stop at this Q code. Sometimes I think it then reboots itself and then sometimes I just hit the reset button and it comes back up. I shut the machine down and left it alone for a couple of hours and just restarted it 15 minutes ago without any issue. Just happens occasionally. I did have trouble with getting my memory stable at 2800 in the last few days, so I finally backed it down to 2666 yesterday. I wonder if I need to decrease the memory speed more.

If the memory speed is a possibility here, this is what I have installed:
G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2800 (PC3 22400) Desktop Memory Model F3-2800C12D-16GTXDG

I would suggest the code 00 was because of the memory OC
The odd thing is that I had decreased the speed to 2666 and it happened once or maybe twice after that. Booted up this morning with no problem. I would think that if it was a defective CPU or MB that it would occur all the time. ?? Thanks for the help.

BTW-I ran memtest the night before the last 00 code occurred at 2666. Made 7 passes with no errors. And then it happened at least once more. I guess I will just watch it for now. Thanks.

Might be failing training occasionally. You can try relaxing timings and tuning voltages as well. Anything past 2133 can be conditional with these CPUs.

Oh, OK. I will watch it a few days and see what happens. If it occurs again, I'll make those adjustments with your input. Thanks again.

My system is doing exactly the same thing - sometimes it hits 00, then resets. The 00 happens very early in POST, maybe within the first second.
