I got a fix... It only works if you guys are running Beta BIOS 0051 and 0052.

Flash to 0506. Thats the fix.

How I found this fix. I was having this problem with games that run DX11, whatever reason all my games that ran DX10 or DX11 would crash my video drivers, anything DX9 ran like a champ.

After removing and reinstalling these games, I asked my self what was the difference between my machine and my Wife's (she has the same everything), and it was the BIOS. So I flashed to 0506, and now everything is working without a problem. I am still having an issue with the Optical not seeing my 5.1 and it still comes across as 2.1. Also I haven't messed with it much since I am heading to class now.

Hope this helps you guys, it helped fixing the problems I was having.

I did that that for a long time Zeus. Is no working...at least this version 0506 it dosent repair this issue. Try to play even a hd video from you tube and go for full screen. It will do the same. Basically is like the something is eating so much memory that affect your sound + video..is like a bandwidth problem(im not an expert..just assuming).because if you didint remark this is afecting even your graphics ...is doing some slow-mo somethimes(u can see this in crysis 2 very clear)

I did see that too, its a major problem we have actually. It seems to be a known issues across almost all motherboard CHF5. If you read the review on newegg, people talk about thoses different problems which probably came from only one.

    OK then, scratch that.

I'm back to crackling and the same dropping effect.

I think it's driver related, and or in my humbling opinion, it's the junk they call creative.

So raja or some1...i have a simple question...RMA this mobo or the resolving is on the way and soon?. Because im scared ..im afraid this issue do not afect other hardware as well.

We were expecting so much from this motherboard and we're stuck on a basic sound issue. It started from the intel drivers and now were at the sound drivers... I keep asking myself if the tests were really done on this motherboard before they start selling it.

    Hello everyone,
I am experiencing the same problem with the optical connection.
When I use it, I hear some crackling, sound cuts, every 15 seconds.

However, the 3 connections (pink black and green) works but it doesn't detect
    the 5.1 speaker (only 2.1).
So I am using these connections until a fix is found. :-(

I even change the optical wire and same problems appeared.
    I'm using windows 7 pro
    CHF5 motherboard
    Speaker: Z-906

    EDIT:
    I ran also DPC.
I had spiked to 3000 every 3-4 seconds until I closed AI suite application.
Then I had a maximum at 97 microseconds.
Not sure why AI suite cause this issue as well
After that, I try again to use the optical sounds but I got the same problem (sound cut every 5-10-15 seconds)...
even with no spike with DPC.

I hope that a fix will be found soon.

    Thanks
