CPU/NB overclocking

Hey,
i overclocked my CPU/NB Frequency up to 2,8Ghz with 1,2V CPU/NB Voltage
and its still stable after 10h Prime95 (Large FFT and Blend).
I was reading in diffrent forums that they need around 1,35V
to get the System stable @ 2,8Ghz.

The weird thing is that when I increase the CPU/NB Voltage up to 1,4V im getting a higher CPU Score at 3DMark Vantage even when i dont need the +0,2V to be stable.
Vcore is still the same like before.

What are your experience?

What CPU and motherboard are you referring to?
