RIVE 4930K 4.4-4.5Ghz wall?

Just picked up a 4930K and been doing some binning/testing.

I can do 4.3Ghz stable with pretty much everything at default XMP. 50% LLC with 1.25V I can do prime95 on all 3 settings.

4.4Ghz requires 1.375V... which.. well.. can't gurantee stability.

4.5Ghz requires 1.45V and is barely prime stable

4.6Ghz instant BSOD @ 1.48V when there is load.

Does 4.3Ghz @ 1.25V seem decent or should I possibly go exchange the chip?

Tried various BIOS's as well.

Luck of the draw on CPUs. Out of 45 4960x samples I had one that would do 4.8ghz at 1.40v

^^^^^ Agree with you Firerx.....The Lemon Law 😉

I 'd like to RMA my 4930K, too, but I thought Intel expressly does not warranty overclocking. So if the chip performs at stock, what recourse do we have (or should we have)?

Have you used the Intel Tuning Plan?

http://click.intel.com/tuningplan/

Wow, it's $10 cheaper to insure compared to the 3930k? It's $25, covers overclocking and all that fun stuff.

That only covers accidental damage to the cpu as a result of overclocking; I'm pretty sure there's no guarantee of overclockability built in to the plan. lol
