Warning: G750 worse than G75

I'd like you to compare two in-depth reviews of the G750 and the G75.

1) G75: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-G75VX-T4020H-Notebook.86730.0.html

2) G750: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-G750JW-Notebook.96316.0.html

It is extremely clear that the G75 is better if you simply compare the results of the reviews with each other.

Here are some points I have realised:

1) The G75 has a much cooler temperature below and above the machine. You don't feel any heat with the G75, whereas you can realise the warmth of the G750.

2) The G75 is so much more silent!!! It is almost like a normal office/multimedia laptop. In comparison, the G750 is talking to you.

3) You can clean the filters wonderfully easy with the G75. Those extra filters are a cool addition. Cleaning the G750 is no good, probably made so that you will buy a new laptop instead of going through the complex process of opening up your laptop.

4) G75: the applications performance has a rating of 96%, PCMark 7 has 1200 points more than the G750! And this even though the processor is theoretically faster than the one of G75!

5) Palm rest of the G75 helps to prevent finger prints and is good against sweat. The new aluminium cover of the G750 is not a bonus, it is a plate which collects the "fat" and sweat of your hands and forms it into a pan of oil. Haven't you realised this, too? I don't feel like using a piece of cloth all the time.

6) G75: display is better than G750.

7) Games performance of G75 is 1% worse than G750.

I am shocked, because this is not subjective but a fact:( I double checked it with other reviews from buyers and came to the same conclusion. Thought of getting the G750, but it seems to be the worse deal ever. You get a few more disadvantages, a slighty and never recognizable better processor and graphic card which leads a "worse" applications performance and a 1% increase in game performance. The price of this laptop should be much lower than the current price of the G75 and not the other way round (if you talk about performance, advantages, features and what you get fromthe price). A horror shock to me and I am happy that I found this out on time!

The heat, noise, fingerprints and sweat problem for all G750 versions are known and proven and it seems to be much better with the G75. What about the other factors? Do you find facts of the more expensive versions which makes a difference?

Well, the G750JH is much more powerful (Geforce 780M) , the GPU temp rarely goes higher than 55 °C.

My only concern is the screen quality.

The G750JW has a 765M videocard, while the G75VX has a 670MX one. The 670MX is probably better because of its higher memory bandwidth - 192bit vs 128bit. This will skew pretty much every benchmark. The Haswell CPUs aren't much better than Ivy Bridge ones, they are however more efficient (supposedly). I wish AMD would put up some competition, Intel has no incentive to really innovate and hasn't really since Sandy Bridge (arguably since i7 came out).

I don't see how a gaming laptop can get any quieter than my 750JX, but I have no way to compare to a G75. For the same reason, I can neither confirm nor deny your other claims.

Heat and noise is not a problem at all on my 750JX. I never hear the fan, and when gaming I'll max out the GPU regularly, running at mid-high70s and the heat output from the back is much better than I would have expected. Honestly, there is no way possible to say this runs hotter and louder than any laptop out there, it is just not possible on air and with today's technology to make a laptop cool enough to say the G750 is noticably worse.

so get the G75 then

For me, I've owned both, the G750JX blows my previous G75VW out of the water! especially the screen! the 3D screen on this beats is a pleasure to look at @ 120 Hz. whereas my previous G75VW had a crappy Matte fugly screen that looks as if someone spilled grease on it

I have to agree with u DeltaActual ..

Not comparing model level to model level.
And since when does a company Ever produce the Next Gen as a downgrade ? [other than Apple.lol]
Each new G has always been and will always be a little Stronger, Faster, Smarter than the last.

OP .. thanks for your concern in this .. but two isolated off forum views can never
come close to actual everyday user/owner reviews from right here on the forum.

the G750 you should be comparing that G75 with is this one: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Preview-Asus-G750JX-Notebook.93319.0.html

the G75 is certainly easier to upgrade and clean but performance wise the JX is a clear evolution. As far as build quality goes I have intentionally kept away from the G75's rubber palmrests because soft touch plastic is much more prone to damage over time than metal is.

I have the G75vw and the G750JH and my JH is way better. My only complaint is the cleaning of the fan issue in the JH.
