ok i have a question, why would prime 95 only use 3gb of memory on the task manager i didnt realize i need to be checking that as well! so after reading this i checked and it showed it using only 3gb? (and i had checked other things to see that 8gb was installed, that was- didnt realize about the usage >.< derp) so what need i do to remedy this situation? - or does it need to be running longer? -have run it up to 12 hours no errors at 1333 7-7-7-20 2x4gb patriot ram (rated for 2000)

In Task manager find the amount of available memory listed. When you launch Prime95 click the custom option and enter the available free memory in the "Memory To Use" box.

You mean 7GB? If so yes that is correct.

    Praz,
I've seen your posts 22 and 23. Just wondering if my hardware is good to go for these configurations.

    AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
    GSkills Ripjaws 4x4 GB (F3-12800CL9Q-16GBRL)
    Hitachi Deskstar 2TB
    GeForce GTX 580
    OCZ ZX850

    Thanks for your help.

The 1866MHz memory speeds as in those two posts? With your memory already rated for CAS9 at 1600MHz I doubt it but if you give it a shot let us know how you get along.

Ok I will try that out, but do you have any suggestions for what I should modify since you said you doubt it would work? Btw, I know this isn't really of this thread topic but I was having trouble updating my BIOS. I have a separate SSD attached to my mobo and was using that as my pseudo flashdrive and it said both the 0813 and 0705 bios updates were not bootable efi bios updates. you think this is cause I need a flash drive? i thought it wouldve worked since i could find the file.. sorry if these are dumb questions.

The timings of your memory are already at 9-9-9 for 1600MHZ memory speed. Doesn't leave much headroom for overclocking.. You could try up to 1.65V on the memory and see how far it will go. Put the UEFI update on a USB stick formatted as FAT and it will flash.
