GeForce GTX 760/770/780 in SLI and 3-way SLI

Hi Guys ,

this is from Hardware info website that tested all of the geforce 700 series cards in all games for 60 fps and

@ 1920x1080 and 5760x1080

Quote;

How many cards do you need?

It's clear that multiple video cards boost performance. Below we made a list with how many cards you need to achieve 60 fps, for each resolution, quality setting and game we tested. You can see that a single GTX 780 is sufficient in almost all cases for Full HD and maximum settings. The GTX 770 and especially the 760 require a second one a lot of the time.

SLI provides the most benefit for the very high resolutions and maximum settings, which became clear in our 5760x1080 test. One card will rarely be enough here, especially with the quality settings turn up high. Six of the games didn't even achieve 60 fps with three GTX 780s in 5760x1080 with 4x AA.

This may clear up some confusion for Nvidia cards.

Thanks HiVizman, especially from you!!

just thought the test would clear confusion with the 700 series cards for the games that are popular.

Plus it is just good reliable reference

Not sure I understand what they're saying, Why would one need 2 780's to play metro 2033 (an older game) with a resolution of 1920x1080 @ very high setting to achieve only 60 fps. Maybe I'm reading it wrong..

Because it's still a complex rendering on a modern engine. Remember when Metro 2033 first came out it was fairly revolutionary, it edged Crysis out of the "top spot" for graphics for a short while. Just because it's a few years old now doesn't make it any less complex -- it's not like graphics cards have gone through any huge jumps in performance in that time. 😉

That makes very good sense thank you...

Yeah, good post just can't wait until resolutions that matter are the benchmark not some weird triple screen resolution that is statistically insignificant. Want 1920x1080 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 please...get with the times reviewers!

Titans. Feh. 1000USD vs. 800USD for a GTX 780Ti, which is 1 1/2 times as fast. And 1000USD for a GTX690 whichs 2 times as fast.
Say hi to the next generation.

😮

Heh guess you're right....can't wait for the price of 4K to get reasonable. Not so long ago I made the move from 1K to 2K and it's night and day....I can only imagine 4K is similarly spectacular....I am impatient for it's arrival. But it is here and I think soon will make triple monitor seem even more of a niche flash in the pan distraction than it already is. I would like to see more 1K 2K 4K benchmarks.
