Ok, im finally upgrading my aging C2D E8500 GTX 260 setup with my first ROG mobo, the Gene Z mATX board. I've been reading alot of good things about it and though I dont' plan on overclocking hardcore, it seems this mATX board has a good reliablity track record, as most of my past Asus boards have done for me over the years

Below is my new build "Black Ice II"

New Intel Core i5 2500k
New ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z
New Red G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
New eVGA GTX 570 Superclocked
WD Caviar Black 640 AALS
New X-Fi Titanium
Antec TruePower New 550w
Antec mini P-180
Xigmatek Dark Knight
Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit
New Dell U2412M

I've gotten the latest drivers and what not downloaded but im wondering whats the best pattern to install the drivers after I load up Windows 7? I will not be doing RAID or SSD on this setup

Interesting. I don't think anyone has ever asked that before, that I have seen at least.

The way I do it is in this order:

Chipset
Video
Sound
X-fi
SSD
Ethernet
Mouse

On my past builds i've usually done it:

1. Chipset
2. Ethernet
3. Video
4. Soundcard
5. Full windows update
