So I come home from work and noticed that the sound was coming from my monitor speakers. check device manager and noticed that my sound card was missing so I opened up the case and saw that the light was on the sound card. I rebooted my computer thinking that would fix it....well it didn't. Next I uninstalled the drivers rebooted the computer and tried to re install the drivers. I get a error message saying that the card wasn't being detected and the installation was terminated. tried switching pcie slots, same thing happens the light on the sound card is on but windows doesn't detect the card. I'm running Windows 8.1

maybe try installing previous drivers like 8.0.8.i got also a problem within the installation ''unknown error'' with the 8.1.8 drivers,including the uni 1.72v drivers as well.the uni 1.71 however works.

asus dropped their support and crapped all over the asus xonar dx unfortunetly drivers wise.there is not much to be done about it 😞

edit:i wrote that in mind u had xonar dx,as for phoebus i have no clue
