Monitor & DisplayPort Question G750JW

Hello, I have an ASUS G750JW laptop with the GTX 765M. It has the Thunderbolt/Mini DisplayPort port.
I am interested in purchasing this monitor, but I want to know if this laptop's Mini DisplayPort port will support 4k @ 60hz.
https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors_Projectors/PB287Q/

From what I have read, 4k @ 60hz will only work if DisplayPort is v1.2, and the specs on this laptop are so vague that this detail is not mentioned anywhere.

Can anyone confirm whether my laptop supports 4k @ 60hz with that monitor?

Thanks in advance!

Apparently, 4K works on GTX 765m. Here you go: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-765M.92907.0.html

Thank you for the reply. I already know the graphics chip can utilize a 4k monitor, I mainly want to know if it can do so at 60hz, which is dependent on DisplayPort.

The refresh rate is dependent on the display... 60Hz is the standard (the physiological limit on your vision - most we can't even detect at that rate).

Hello, thank you for the tip, but I am still looking for an answer for this particular question regardless.

To make myself clear, the monitor I linked to in the first post outputs at 30hz over HDMI. However, over DisplayPort 1.2, it outputs at 60hz.
So I just want to know whether the mini DisplayPort in my G750JW is 1.2 and will support 60hz on this monitor.

Display port should be able to go up to 120Hz (there is enough bandwidth). In any case, if your screen has a refresh rate of 60Hz, even if you connect with a slower connection, you'll still work at 60Hz, but you'll have the same information 2 frames at a time (you won't really notice - TVs and movies are taped at 24 FPS, while your TV refreshes at 60Hz.
The link I posted above states that the DisplayPort in the GTX 765m which comes with the G750JW has v1.2. So you should be all right.
