G75 isn't detecting 5ghz wifi signal

My G75vw isn't seeing the 5ghz signal from my new Linksys EA6400 Wireless AC router, Dual band. It sees only the 2.4ghz signal. I know that both networks are enabled, because my mom can see the 5ghz signal with her IPad and can connect to it, and I can see it with my Galaxy S5 phone. The question is, why doesn't my G75 see it while other devices do see it? And how can I get the G75 to see the signal? Has anyone had this problem?

The G75 cannot connect to 5gHz networks unless it has a dual band capabilities.

I see, can I replace/upgrade the card? or is it built into the motherboard? Is there a wifi adapter that can read 5ghz signals?

Yes you can upgrade you WiFi Card, I think there are Intel and Bigfoot Cards that work. Search these forums for upgrade Wifi Card.
