Question VII HERO: Clock never changes hour

    Hi!

I've recently built a brand new computer, almost 2 months old now. A week ago suddently the desktop clock stopped working properly. It's currently jumping static in the same hour, over and over again. It ruins everything I work with, games I play and pages I visit.

    My build:
    Asus - GTX 760
    Asus - Maximus VII Hero
    Intel - i5-4670K
    650w power supply
    1 SSD and 1 HDD

I first had a win7 os running and hoped to god it solwed the problem by upgrading to 8.1. It acctually worked for 2 days, for some bizzare reason.
I've read around on the intrawebs, and most of the motherboard's intergrated batteries seemed to be the reason for this kind of problem.

So my question is; is there something I could do before I have to send the motherboard to service? There are absolutly no other problems with my build other than the desktop clock.

I could post the version of BIOS i have later, if that helps.

    I worship any help givven!

You might want to look through this lengthy thread on the VI series boards. Don't know if it will help you or not:

Also, specifically look at Tokens210 post #150, page 15. I ended up doing this for my M6E, but I just don't know if it applies to your Hero 7 board. Hope this helps.

Update your UEFI build to the latest as well (if you have not already).

You can check the version in the UEFI main page or the Mainboard tab of CPU-Z against the latest on the support site.

This is happening to my brand new mobo as well.
My windows time will not stay in sync.

I honestly expect better when I pay for top of the line gear.
Not only that but it takes too long to boot up my USB peripherals and sometimes when it boots, it just stalls, then i need to hard reboot..
I get to the login screen, then I have to count literally 10 seconds before my peripherals activate.
Even before i got my SSD I could be typing as the login screen appeared and it would register what I typed. Now I sit and wait like I am on an old computer, until my keyboard lights up and it lets me use it.

I sincerely expected better out of this republic of gamers design. I have all top of the line components and this mobo is causing me problems.
Not a good first impression for a first time user.

Often when I tell the PC to "Restart" it stalls at restart.

I'm about to just go return it if I can't get a fix.

It would of been much more helpful if you had posted links to that btw.
I'd of liked to check mine but I'm not exactly sure what page it's on in support.

Weird that it is an hour out. Maybe related to a DST setting within Windows?

The issue that seemed to have affected some users with VI boards seems to be different in that in those cases the clock was actually freezing [stopping].

It changes hour sometimes, jumps either forward or backwards, but stays in the same state in that hour aswell. Never seen it change date..
