DoomGart, these lags are common with HDD's, your experience while broad and respectable, doesn't include everything in the universe 🙂

There are lots of times I have helped people here with HDD lags and quiethdd cures it, it is very common - search in the forums for quiethdd. And, for many years I have recommended other tools to adjust HDD APM/AAM, but they are too low level for most people, at least this one runs on Windows.

You encounter deviations because all complex systems have their own idiosyncratic behavior, and coming into it for the first time there will be specifics for which you have no previous experience, no matter how much experience you have, there is always more to learn, it is part of the joy of change through technological progress.

If you can mellow out, and kick back a bit, you will get more enjoyment out of your $2500 laptop. 🙂

DoomGart, that's the spirit, everyone goes through this at some level with Asus / ROG frustrations, so you aren't alone... it isn't as bad as it seems at the time, and it gets better.

I will give you the big one now, Asus doesn't update drivers for hardware once they release newer models... you need to follow their new hardware releases to find the newest updates.

The G750JW/JX/JH download areas haven't had new updates for a while, at the time of this post the JM download area is where to get the latest Windows 8.1 updates, after the new G750 models after those are released then their download area will be the ones to watch. BIOS updates still happen in your model's support area, so still check there from time to time.

Here is the list of places I look for updates for my G750JH, so when you get your G750JZ back from RMA you can update all your drivers - the best way to get a stable fully functioning G750 is to update the drivers to the latest Windows 8.1 drivers.

G750 support areas - The JM download area has the latest of all the G750, with JS/JZ next, the G750JW/JX/JH are out of date:

That's about it as far as issues with Asus support. At least here in the US the laptop support group is great, and has quick turnaround for RMA's

What is your G750JZ RMA'd to fix?

DoomGart, hopefully tuning the Subwoofer level, and the MaxxAudio Equilizer will give you good results when you get your G750JZ back from RMA. At least you know Asus replaced the subwoofer and tested it, so it's as good as it is going to get.

I would recommend getting a fast 16GB USB 3.0 flash drive to make an Asus Backtracker recovery bootable flash drive for future use - like upgrading your HDD to a SSD - or if you want to experiment with larger M.2 NGFF SSD's to replace your RAID0.

If you can share a link with Audio/Video material that is causing your sub to bottom out, I will see if I can get tuning settings that work. I don't get on here as much as I used to, but I will check in and look for your posts.

Unfortunately, i don't have RAID0 on my notebook. My subwoofer ckrak down, when i playing Divinity: Original Sin, or listen Rammsteon or Gregorian. I tried to decrease sab settings to 40-50 % and it was help me, but I thought it was - the fault, and passed the laptop to the service.
I read about MAXX +3 and think it can help me too.
