BIOS CPU support

Checking in the sticker next to the SATA ports and ATX larger pin I found my BIOS version is 3602. Where can I check CPU support? My CPU is Intel 4930K, do you know if it is supported? The red cpu Q Led keeps red and nothing happens. Debug Leds show 00.
Thanks

What motherboard ?

Sorry. It's a Rampage IV Gene.
Even if it doesn't start, will it load the BIOS from the USB?
I mean, the only thing it does is turning on the Q Leds, the fans, but nothing on the screen. No BIOS at all and I haven't got any OS installed since it's all new, the mother and the CPU.
Thanks for your replies!

I had the red cpu Q Led and code 00 on my Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard unfortunately the mobo had died and taken my 4930k with it, Both had to be RMA,ed only had them about a month luckily both were replaced with new under warranty and has been working rock solid for 5 months now.

A RIVE I guess

Sounds like a simple BIOS update is needed to me. 4930K was supported from a 43xx BIOS so 3602 won't cut the mustard.

Download latest BIOS for your board from support section on the ASUS site for the motherboard

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_IV_EXTREME/HelpDesk_Download/

Enter your OS and open BIOS field.

Download BIOS 4901.

Rename it R4E.CAP (carefull not to rename r4e.cap.cap 😉

Clear CMOS on RIVE

Format a USB pendrive FAT 32.

Place renamed BIOS file on drive.

Place drive in ROG connect port of I/O panel (see manual) and press rog connect button for 3 seconds. You should see rog connect button and BIOS chip BIOS light flash for just over a minute....BIOS light flashes quicker and quicker...

Flash should be done and you should be ready to go if this was indeed the problem...

OK well, Gene follows same BIOS numbers so you have to follow the method above just looking to download from the Gene page.

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_IV_GENE/HelpDesk_Download/

The method is called BIOS Flashback and you will have to rename the BIOS file R4G.CAP

http://event.asus.com/2012/mb/usb_bios_flashback_guide/

Yes, it doesn't have to be started for this method to work. The board has to be off but powered for this to work i.e PSU plugged in and switched on...start button lights etc will be on on the board...
