Hi i ordered an SSD for my g74sx-nh71 and i want to install win 7 on it. I saw the iso link in the thread and was wondering if and how i could install it from a flash drive Thanks for your help!

Also if there were any other free methods that would be pretty easy, please tell.

Yes, it can be done using a USB thumbdrive....it works quite well, in fact.

I just received the Asus G74Sx laptop (fourth one). They have all had issues with the keyboard. This one in particular the space bar and down scroll key (missed key strokes/not registering when pressing on it).

What has been the latest fix for this?

I have ATK Package 1.0.0015 currently installed. I am uncertain which BIOS version I have as it doesn't display this when I turn on the laptop.

I want to try to resolve it on my own before submitting for another replacement. Thanks.

To check your BIOS version:

• START -> type "system" -> select System Information
• The BIOS version & date are listed about halfway down on the main page

I would suggest you:

• Completely uninstall the existing ATK Package and KB filter
• Shut down and update to the latest BIOS, v203 (instructions)
• Restart, and install ATK Package 1.0.0015
• Restart

If specific keys continue to exhibit issues, it's probably a hardware issue with those keys.

Hmm....it's always at the top of the start menu list for me (when I type system). You could always use the Run command and type in "msinfo32," though that's kind of a cumbersome way to do it.
