Hi everyone,

When using my notebook to play games for like 3h, the notebook just turns off, I think because of the heat. Lately it's been too hot in Brazil (around 32ºC / 89ºF), but also I had to format and reinstall everything from scratch, because the update to Windows 8.1 broke the Restore option, so I'm not sure if:

- It's a driver issue, I have the Nvidia control panel installed and it guarantees that I have the last driver for my video card
- It's another issue

When it turns off, I can verify that the left back part is too damn hot!

Anyone can give me any hints? I couldn't find any events in Windows EventViewer, so I'm really lost here 😞

Is it turning off or going to sleep.

Is this with laptop lid open or closed?

Hi Paul256,

More info:

- The lid is open
- I'm using an external monitor
- It's with the battery and always connected to the AC
- The notebook just turns off, like there's a heat protection
- When it's turned off (suddenly) it's damn hot in the left side (back) looking from front
