PCI-3 3.0 on Crosshair v Formula-z

I'm interested in purchasing a new 970 card but noticed this board only supports PCI-E 2.0. Even looking at the GTX 600 and 700 Series they are all 3.0 as well. How much of a performance loss will i see using a 3.0 in a 2.0 slot?

You want see any difference (right now). Manufacturers aren't quite fully using up PCI-E 2.0.

I agree, from what I've read, there is plenty of overhead bandwidth available in PCI-E 2.0 still. They even did away with Crossfire cables and routed over PCI-E on the R9 290x's. Tells me there is some bandwidth left.

Speaking of, if you want pci-e 3.0, you might want to look at the AMD line of APUs and the Crossblade Ranger 2 mobo, I "THINK" it has 3.0
