Asus G750JW DB71 RAM Upgrade

Hi there! I'm planning on upgrading the ram in my ASUS laptop. It currently has the stock 3x4 gigs of memory. Would I be able to add a stick of 8 gig memory to it? Also does anyone have any sticks or specs they could recommend given the build of my laptop? I was looking into either Corsair or GSkill memory. Thanks!

I'm sorry. Did you post something? I can't see anything. And as a follow-up question after doing some research, does it matter if the ram is 9-9-9-28 like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231704

or 11-11-11-31 like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231759

Raxef, that G.Skill memory is awesome, but you would need to replace all 4 SODIMM's at the same time to use it. You can't mix different speed memory from different manufacturers together, even 2 at a time, definitely not 1 at a time when you already have 3 other SODIMM's installed. The good news is it has been done and it works:

G750 Haswell Boards Support 2133MHz SODIMM's

The easiest expansion is to get 1 of the same SODIMM as you already have installed. Use CPU-Z to see what make/model of memory you have installed, and google it to order a 4th to add. You could also find the 8GB part from the same make/model family - there is usually on listed on the make site, look for a pdf with specs. You can't add 1 8GB part, but you could pull the other easily accessible 4GB part and then put in 2 8GB SODIMM's from the same make/model family as the 4GB part.

CPU-Z - I download the ROG themed version

My G750JH had 3x8GB Hyndai and I found the same make/model on ebay, it's a pull from a Macbook Pro and is an exact matching part.

Please let us know what you get and how it ends up working for you 🙂

So I'm in the middle of installing my two 8 gig sticks. However in start up I just get a black screen. Then when I switched back to the stock memory, black screen again. Everything is plugged in properly with no damage. Any ideas?
