Hello all,
I would like to OC my Intel Core i7 4790K. I am using an Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact motherboard and a Corsair H100i. I already have Windows 8.1 installed. How do I OC my CPU?

Hello af19 and welcome

I can help you overclock your cpu, if you'd like help download these 3 programs

ROG realbench -

http://rog.asus.com/rog-pro/realbench-v2-leaderboard/

Realtemp 3.70 and ROG cpu-z, you can find these two on the net easily.

Get these installed and when you're ready let me know.

All right sorry for the delay.

Let's do a run at stock settings to see where temps are first. The cpu temperature controls how far you can overclock it.

Open up realbench, real temp and cpu-z.

In realbench click on stress test, turn it white and select how many GB of ram you have, the 15 minute test is fine.

Click start and monitor the temps with real temp and look at cpu-z and see what the core voltage is showing.

When the test has completed post the maximum cpu temps real temp is showing and what the core voltage cpu z is showing while running the test please.

Ya got it?

Ok af19 sounds good, I'll look for you then.

If you have a good cpu you should be able to get to 4.9GHz.

Tomorrow we'll find out.
