Asus Rampage IV Black Edition restarts

Hello,

I have a strange issue with my setup. In the past two month the computer restarts itself while playing a game. That happens about twice a week. To investige the errors, I tried out Prime. The computer crashes after some minutes. My setup:

i7 4960X
Asus Rampage IV Black Edition
Corsair Dominator Platinum 32 GB Kit (1866MHz) (CMD32GX3M4A1866C9)
780 Ti SLI
Seasonic P-1000

My first thought was a broken power supply. I switched it, same behaviour. Then I tried very single memory module. It crashes with every single one after ~20 min. To avoid any wrong BIOS settings, it has been reset. I have loaded the XMP settings for the memory (1866MHz, 9-10-9-27-2) and all cores are synced. The turbo frequenzy is 4.00 GHz. All others settings are default.

With this settings the computer crashes at Prime after 2 mins: Blackscreen and restart. The temperature is fine (MB: 33, CPU: 64) at air.

Any ideas?

Edit: Oh boy, I have posted this in the wrong forum...sorry 😞

Did you use the newest bios ?

A typical way is to remove the battery, unplug the power cord. Wait a few minutes, but in the bios battery, power cable and reboot the system.

Maybe one of your power cables is removed (and you didn'T notice this - this happen to me a few month ago)

You can add a 4-pin power cable because you use sli.

Only ideas. 🙂
