Crosshair V Headache!!!

I have a Crosshair V board that I purchased 2nd hand from eBay.

Description was "CPU Led light stays on and cannot be bothered to fix".

Still I purchased it along with a new bios chip and still the CPU led light stays on, yet if I cold boot and press restart it boots into life and all is OK.

I have tried downgrading BIOS, Resetting BIOS via CMOS button, battery removal and left to drain and via jumper.

It is starting to be an annoyance and was asking for assistance or advice if anyone else has had this issue.

My final conclusion is a faulty cap as I am at a loss why this is happening.

Before this board I was using a 970 Gigabyte board and had no issues whatsoever.

Welcome to the ROG forum

When you saw the Description you should not have considered buying that motherboard. They listed it as broken and I doubt there is anything we can do to help you. I'm sure they had their run around with it and is why they sold it.

If it's still giving you problems just bite the bullet and buy a new one, it will come with a warranty too.
