VI Formula wont start first time, or 2nd

Hey guys,

I have a VI Formula that runs well when its on.
I have no issues or crashed of any sorts.
But if I shut down my PC its a nightmare to get it back on.

I press the on button and nothing.
I press and hold the on button but nothing.
I press reset and nothing.
I press and hold reset and nothing.
I press on and nothing.

I just randomly press and hold the power button until it eventually springs into life.
At first it was like press and hold it once and it would start, but now it can take 5 or 6 presses or holds.
I sit there holding the button for about 2 mins wondering if its actually doing anything or not.

I cant get to the start button on the mobo to test that out yet, that is my next step.
But its not easy for me as my mobo is in a desk.

Is there anything else I could check in bios or test?

Once in windows if I press the power button it shuts down immediately so the button seems to work fine.

Well now its got to a stage of the ROG logo pulsating and nothing happening anymore.

I pressed the Power + Rest together and it came to life for about 3 seconds and then died again.
But now my keyboard looks alive, or alive in demo mode.
Think its just receiving power but nothing else.

What else can I try?

I've tried with no ram, 1 stick.
Wobbled power around, and all.

Sorry,

PSU - Seasonic 1000w Plat
CPU - i7 4770k
Mobo - VI Formula
GPU - 2x 980
RAM - 32 GB Corsair Plat 1866
SSD - 1x 256gb Samsung 850 Pro, 1x 1tb Samsung 850 EVO
Cooling - Full WC loop

I did wonder if it could be the PSU, and I will borrow a PSU to test when I'm back from Gamescom.
But all the lights on the mobo are on and working fine.

Also when the PC was running, it runs for days and days and works perfectly.
Its only when trying to power on.

PSU sounds like a good lead for investigation.

Try removing some hardware like the 2 GPUs, leave only one stick of RAM and only one SSD, reset CMOS and see if the PC runs.
If the PSU is failling, it should work a little better providing less power.
Might not be PSU, but worth trying IMHO.

Also, some RAM stick going bad might cause funky behaviors. So, pick one and use the PC, see if runs OK.

Does your board have debug leds? If so, what codes you see?

Other than that, I would start an RMA if still possible.
