Unable to install/uninstall error 1316 account already exists.

So I tried to update GPUTweakII to the latest version and I got the error 1316 the specified account already exists, then error 1603 fatal error during installation.

I can neither uninstall the old version or install the new version, so I uninstalled it using Revo and the error persists. Is there a solution?

Thank you.

Thank you, much obliged. This kind of thing isn't something I usually get stuck with.

I didn't have a restore point, but I used CCleaner. I had to try it a couple of times, the first time I got the same result, but I fired it up again and hit repair, then it uninstalled fine after that, and once it had finished, installing went off without a hitch.

I'll keep CCleaner as my first goto in future.

Cheers.

glad it worked , I looked at some of the installer code for Gpu Tweak , something is not correct . as compared to other versions, the installer is really messed up. But I'm unsure if its the installer or uninstaller code some values are very different. My Gpu tweak Uninstaller is Stuck at 40% , but I forced it to upgrade , but add remove programs say I have an older version installed
