Hello everyone,
I've bought this notebook about 1 week ago. And I'm pleasant about it's performance since i've been using it.
I bought it with Windows 8.1 and upgraded to windows 10. There are few questions that I want to ask.
1) If someday my notebook needs a recovery, will it convert back to windows 8.1 or will it stay windows 10? I'm asking it because i think windows 10 is free upgradable for a limited time.
2) Is there 2 fan or 1 fan in my product?
3) Should i use a cooler while i play games? ( It becomes approximately 75 celsius degrees when im playing gta5 )
4) Do you have further suggestions about the product? Do you know this product as problematic or a good product?
5) Do i need a SSD ? I dont have one. And if i do, should i replace it with the blu-ray drive?
Thanks 🙂
Congrats on your new laptop
🙂I own a DB10-x550ze , (AMD) American MegaTrends -Asus WinFlash / Vision with a Asus Frontend R7 driver plugin for a real R5 looked liked, lol anyways. Board Vender is through Seagate.
What you really have will take a Probe Boot Disk, but i can add :
1.) YES, when on Windows10 immediatly make a System 10-20 DVD system-Image-Backup of ENTIRE DRIVE including the hidden/ but not reall hidden / 15GB Recovery Partion.
Long as you didnt Clean Format your HDD/SSD your recovery will still be there. You will want to restart Win10 and at the Reboot options / (((ASUS LOGO))) Press + HOLD F9 or keeping pressing it ONLY IF THE RECOVERY PARTION STIL EXSISTS, you will now see the Win8.1 Factory Reset Kudos to asus for a Awesome Recovery, saved my Swap after finding out a BIOS update was needed before upgrading,
Dont know if ill go back to it
2.) 1 fan i belive with Cooling Tubes. Run youtube search to see your laptop fans being cleaned. The tubing is present in all them.
3.) Use a commercial Cooler on Lowest Setting OR MAX Setting while its sleeping, your temps will drop to 26'c after wakeup for 15-20min WITH CD DRIVE OPEN (Sleeping) CAREFUL There is a such thing as too cold, when it comes to laptop systems like this Since your starting to run at a dangerous 75'c Imeddiate cooling like this will (You guessed it) Start cracking chips and controllers on the board.
Dont let the simplicity of a cooler fool you, You will be dropping temps at a rapid dangerous rate, KEPP This in mind.
I never let mine go above 60c while running a 3D app. Any App at any time !
4.) Dont own this product, but own similair
5.) SDD will help run your machine i little, unless you got a 5400rpm Mechanical than i would defintly look into Asus HDD replacment / purchase.
