question for sabertooth 990fx and FX 8150 cpu

built this system about 2 weeks ago everything is working great !! one thing i noticed is that there is always one core of the 8 core that is always running at 70 to 90 % when my pc is at idle !! Now if i look in task manager and go to processes, there is one that is called system idle process, image name i guess its called and the description of it is this (percentage of time the processor is idle) !! there is a number beside that and its between 80 and 90 all the time !! its really anoying, do i need to learn to live with it or can i stop it ?? it wont let me end the process either !! does anyone know what i'm talking about at least !!

lol....the reason i say it's anoying is because i have a widget or gadget that show's CPU core activity......and one is always at 80 or 90 %, i guess i could remove that gadget.....that would solve it !! thanx for the info !!

System idle process is telling you it's in an idle state - not doing anything. 90% means its 90% asleep. If one other process is continually active though then something is always working in the background.

What widget do you use to show CPU core activity?

Have you checked All CPU Meter is actually compatible with the AMD FX series? It maybe reading the CPU wrongly due to its different design.

no i didn't check but since i uninstalled the drive widget everything is normal now, The cpu barely works 1 or 2 % now !! Maybe the drive meter is not compatible with my SSD....all i know is something wasn't right with the drive meter, i didn't really need it anyways so !!
