P9X79 Deluxe: Marvell 9128 sata 6 runs sata 6 drives at sata 3 speed.

I have a P9X79 Deluxe with the latest bios:
The onboard Marvell sata 6 controller (Marvell 9128 I think) always reports (via the marvell MSU utility) that it is running my sata 6 hard drives at sata 3 speeds. It *reports* that the drives are sata 6 capable, but it runs them only at sata 3 speed.

Any suggestions? Is there a place to report this to Marvell ("Moving Foward Faster")?

The Marvell driver is dated 9/21/2011. version 1.2.0.1014.
The drives are Seagate 3TB, model ST3000DM001:

    Thanks.

That's not going to make any difference whether you are working under SATA2 or SATA3 mode, as the max read/write performance of your HDD is only 156MB/s, which is just above SATA150 (i.e. the original SATA specification):

It's listed as a SATA 6Gb/s, so it should enable SATA 6. in burst mode it will make use of sata 6 speed. It seems from other posters that seagate has a bug in the firmware--at any rate, it also pops up with intel drivers.

SATA ports can really only run at the rating or spec of the HDD.
