- About ROG
ASUS has invested in its DirectCU cooling technology for a few generations of graphics cards and it extends from ROG series Matrix and MARS all the way down through its custom designed series dubbed DirectCU.
DirectCU technology puts flattened copper heatpipes in direct contact with the GPU core, which then efficiently draws the heat away into a tightly packed fin-stack directly underneath the fan(s).
At the high-end the DirectCU II technology?invokes?a dual fan design with twin heatsinks, providing up to 600% more air than stock coolers to give a 20% cooler card than reference designs, creating additional overclocking headroom.
For mainstream graphics cards a single fan cools under the DirectCU brand, while SilentCU designs work with large heatsinks to passively and silently cool graphics cards in environments that are particularly sound sensitive like offices or home theaters.

Super Alloy Power Technology
The new and exclusive Super Alloy Power technology on ASUS and ROG graphics cards uses a special alloy formula which is highly-magnetic, heat-resistant and anti-corrosive. It delivers a more stable and quieter operation compared to the reference design – a welcome bonus sought after by performance seekers. It’s offers up to a 15% performance boost, at 35% cooler temperatures and 2.5x longer lifespan.
Users can tweak the GPU core, memory and fan speeds on each installed graphics card independently or sync’d together, as well as monitor the effects.
ROG exclusively adds GDDR5 memory timing adjustments, BIOS updating, game video recording and GPU-Z function.
BIOS Burn-in & Recovery and memory timing adjustment is exclusive to ROG graphics cards.
Using onboard buttons, the GPU voltages can be adjusted up to 10 jumps, while the full fan-speed button pumps the fan(s) up to 100% speed at a single press. This is all done without having to interfere in the system via software. TweakIt is exclusive to Matrix series ROG cards.
Dedicated solder points allow overclockers to accurately monitor GPU, memory, PLL, and PCIe voltages via a multimeter. This is all done without having to interfere in the system via software. ProbeIt is exclusive to Matrix series ROG cards.
Safe Mode Button
Worry-free overclocking! Reset the graphics card at any time back to its default frequencies and voltages, by hitting the safe-mode button.?This is all done without having to interfere in the system via software. The Safe Mode Button ?is exclusive to Matrix series ROG cards.
