Striker GTX 760 4GB Tech: Everything You Need To Know

The Striker GTX 760 with pre-overclocked GPU and 4GB double memory has just launched, and we've broken one down to detail its new features for you. 

Starting with the design, the ROG team constructed the angular shroud around the DirectCU II style cooler  underneath, with its 10mm heatpipes interweaving around the design. Airflow and cooling is, of course, as crucial as styling.

From the outside the features to spot are the real-time GPU load LED - the same as the latest Matrix - that heatpipe that pokes its nose out and the Crosschill fan design with large 10mm fans.

On the flip side there's the Super Alloy POSCaps sitting on the backside of the GPU, holding plenty of charge to prevent power droop.

Part hidden just below the Striker name is the VGA Hotwire. These pair with ROG Extreme or Black Edition motherboards and only need to be used if you're into serious/extreme overclocking. Remember, soldering on bits voids the warranty!

8+6 pin power connectors are required, and like all DirectCU II boards have fuse protection hardwired in to prevent unexpected power spikes from taking out your graphics card.

At the other end is the Super Alloy Power hardware - 6+2 phase (GPU and memory), plus DIGI+ VRM chip accurately controlling the power distribution. There's plenty of extra headroom for additional overclocking to the already pre-overclocked GPU (Boost hits 1,150MHz) and 4GB of memory (6GHz effective).
