Republic of Gamers Announces ROG Community Challenge Grand Final

It has all come down to this, a battle between eight regions from around the world each consisting of the best upcoming talent with the passion to go pro in Counter Strike: Global Offensive. ROG Join the Republic Community Challenge will head to Dreamhack Monster Studios in Stockholm, Sweden for the grand final, which will be held from the 5th to the 8th January, 2017.

ROG went around the world in search for promising talent, going to events such Dreamhack Summer, GamesCom, Syntrend, PAX West, Paris Games Week and PAX Australia. In all, six team captains found their team of gamers from these events, with another two recruiting their teams online. The teams had bootcamps where players trained and worked on their tactics before the big event, now they will travel to Stockholm to face off and earn the right to be called the ROG Join the Republic Community Champions.

Each team is helmed by some of the biggest name in gaming and eSports. The team captains are Mikail ‘Maikelele’ Bill (Nordics), Michele ‘zonixx’ Kohler (Germany), Yi ‘Luke’ Chun Tseng (Taiwan), Erik ‘fl0m’ Flom (USA), Willy ‘Skyyart’ Dias (France), Chad ‘SPUNJ’ Burchill (Australia), Piotr ‘IzakOOO’ Skowyrski (Europe) and Eric ‘adreN’ Hoag (USA online).
