HWBOT World Tour 2015 – Records Broken at ROG OC Showdown Area!
For the second year in the row, HWBOT organized the largest extreme overclocking gathering in Taipei, Taiwan. After a week of Computex, top extreme overclockers gathered at the MakerBar to show their overclocking prowess, while trying out the just-announced Strix GTX 980 Ti!
International Overclocking Community
Over 3 days, we got the privilege of witnessing top international overclockers in action: 8pack from UK, Achill3us from Hungary, Bullshooter, Dancop and der8auer from Germany, bboyjezz, lucky_n00b, Coldest from Indonesia, Cloud VII and Toolius from India, dRweEz and Vivi from South Africa, Flank3r from Czech Republic, Jaime from Brazil, leeghooft from Belgium, Michel90 from Switzerland, Xtreme_Addict from Poland and zzolio from Denmark.
ROG OC Showdown Area
ROG OC Showdown Area featured specific sets of benchmarks and 13 specific targets. At the conclusion of the event, three new world records were broken and a global first place was achieved by the duo der8auer (Germany) and 8pack (UK), taking home all four honors along with US$2250 in cash prizes.
The 3 world records were achieved on Catzilla 1440P (56747 Marks), Catzilla 720P (94997 Marks), and 3DMark11 performance (53396 Marks). The Global First Place was set on Catzilla 720P with 94044marks.
HWBOT World Series Contest
In conjunction with the ROC OC Showdown Area, the HWBOT World Series contest also took place. The three stages were SuperPi 1M Hardware Points, Target Score and Cinebench R15. Here are the final rankings:
Top two places went to two Indonesians from JagatReview; Lucky N00b and bboyjezz. Third place went to Bruno from Romania.
- 1st Place: Lucky_N00b won US$1,680 and an ASUS Strix GTX 980 Ti graphics card.
- 2nd Place: bboyjezz won US$1,120 and HyperX DDR4 Predator memory.
- 3rd Place: Bruno won US$560 and an ASUS ROG Rampage V Extreme gaming motherboard.
