ROG is headed for Blizzcon 2018 and we're bringing all the gear and swag
As fall descends and Halloween looms, we're gearing up for one of our favorite fall events. Blizzcon© 2018 kicks off on November 2nd at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. The show is a must if you’re looking for the latest on Overwatch, Diablo III, Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft, Hearthstone and World of WarCraft. We’re proudly returning for our third consecutive year, and boy, did we come to party.
The ROG team is dropping anchor with a haul of our best hardware for traditional desktop play as well as gaming on the go. Get early eyes on just released gear as well as first-hand experience with some of our favorite systems. Come check us out in the Heroes of the Storm Hall at Booth #B-1. You can’t miss us; we’re right next to NVIDIA.
Gaming unchained
ASUS is the official monitor, motherboard, and laptop partner of Blizzcon, so our tech is already playing a big role behind the scenes. Eagle-eyed attendees may spot our ROG Swift PG248Q esports gaming monitors at demo stations or on the esports stages, and our ROG Zephyrus GX501 laptops will be used by Blizzard employees making the magic happen all weekend. The TUF X299 Mark 2 and ROG Strix X299-E Gaming motherboards are the foundation for all of the custom desktops at demo stations around the venue, too. If you’ve got your sights set on the latest and greatest gear, stop by our booth for a taste of our newest toys.
The ROG Phone was announced earlier this summer and starts shipping October 29th. Blizzcon attendees will have a chance to take it for a test drive with Hearthstone. This phone was built for gamers from the ground up and is packed with bleeding edge hardware, including a speedy 90Hz display with a 1-ms response time, a binned Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and 8GB of RAM.
If your idea of mobile gaming is a bit bigger than a 6" screen, the new thin-bezel Zephyrus S GX531 is a feast for the eyes. Its ultrabook-thin metal chassis is stuffed with cutting-edge components for awesome performance on the go. The Zephyrus S boasts an even slimmer design than the original Zephyrus despite cramming in more powerful internals, but our innovative Active Aerodynamic System works to keep the Intel Core i7-8750H processor and up to GeForce GTX 1070 with Max Q graphics cool. Through a collaboration with AUO, we were able to kick the refresh rate up to 144Hz and get the response time down to 3ms to ensure the best visuals in fast-paced games.
Our ROG Strix Scar II GL704 and Strix Hero II GL504 laptops are made for esports and match the Zephryus's 144Hz/3ms display with narrow bezels for a more immersive experience. Their 8th Gen Intel processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics are powerful enough to push triple digit frame-rates in your favorite esports games, and with stylish FPS- and MOBA-inspired designs decked out in Aura Sync, they're head-turners, too.
Deluge of desktops
If you’re looking for an all out desktop gaming experience, we've got you covered. We'll have an army of ROG systems at our booth for you to check out, as well as custom rigs from Cyberpower, iBuyPower, and CLX. The ROG Strix GL12 is loaded with an 8th Gen Intel Coffee Lake processor and NVIDIA 10-series graphics, and is tournament-ready with a hot-swap SSD tray. Meanwhile, our ROG GT51 will be ruling the roost with its ominous black and copper color scheme. Its factory overclocked Intel Core i7-7700K CPU is coupled with GTX 1080 Ti graphics provide more than enough muscle for the most demanding gaming experiences, including VR.
The ROG Huracan G21 is a totally different animal. This unique and diminutive system packs a lot of power for immersive gaming in any setting. It's based on an Intel Core i7-8700K CPU and has a two-stage foldable flap to help with ventilation. Peeling back the flap engages the Aura Sync lighting and offers a glimpse at the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 inside.
Keep cool and carry on
This year, we expanded the ROG ecosystem to include a new line of AIO coolers. We'll have the flagship Ryujin display at our booth along with its little brother, the Ryuo. Both are built on an Asetek technology, feature a customizable OLED display for displaying system vitals, and have Aura Sync-enabled lighting. The Ryujin is available in 240-mm and 360-mm radiator sizes and sports Noctua fans. The smaller Ryuo comes in 240-mm and 120-mm sizes and is made for smaller builds.
Powerful peripherals
Your PC is nothing without the peripherals, though, and we've got those in spades for Blizzcon attendees. The ROG Swift PG27UQ is the holy grail of gaming monitors. It pairs a 4K panel with NVIDIA's G-Sync HDR and a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth, vivid visuals that are more vibrant and lifelike. The ROG Strix Flare keyboard features Cherry MX switches and takes customization to the next level with an acrylic insert that can be emblazoned with your gamertag or graphic of choice. The Flare comes in a variety of key switch types and the booth will be stocked with variants in Cherry MX Brown, Cherry MX Silver, and Cherry MX Blue for you to try.
Rounding out our stable of peripherals are the brand new ROG Delta headset and the new ROG Balteus mouse surfaces. The Delta features a quad-DAC for crisp, clean audio, and a USB Type-C connector that makes it easy to switch between your laptop and your smartphone. The Balteus comes with or without Qi wireless charging for your phone, and is made from a hard, durable surface that won't degrade over time. Of course, both the Delta and Balteus are also Aura Sync-enabled with RGB lighting that can be synced with the rest of your setup.
Prizes and playtime
We know that the only thing better than playing with cool gear is taking it home, so we'll have giveaways you can enter once you stop by. Our stamp card activation from previous years is back, and we'll have a bunch of fun activities at the booth for you to check off for the chance to win daily prizes. Regardless of whether you win, you'll get a special edition ROG patch produced just for Blizzcon. Prizes for the giveaways include awesome ROG swag as well as a range of peripherals. Regardless of whether you win, you'll get a special edition ROG patch produced just for Blizzcon.
If you're more interested in competing against new friends, we'll have gaming stations throughout the booth. Visit the esports station and test your mettle on Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch, or kick back in the ROG Tower where we've set up the ultimate gaming den with the ASUS F1 short-throw projector powered by our ROG Huracan G21.
Blizzcon run from November 2nd through to November 3rd, 2018 and we'll be at the booth all day on both days. If you can’t make the show then be sure to catch us Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for the latest from the show floor.
