ROG OC Showdown Round 2 & RealBench Challenge III: Competitions start on October 28th!

For this second half of the year, Republic of Gamers is organizing two different online overclocking competitions - open to enthusiasts worldwide. For both of the competitions, overclockers need to compete using air or liquid cooling in order to show what their system is capable of. Prizes are awarded to the top winners, but not exclusively; some lucky draw prizes are up for grabs, too, so don't miss this chance! 

ROG OC Showdown Formula Series - Round 2: Oct 28th to Nov 28th

The ROG OC Showdown Formula Series, is divided into two rounds. First Round ran from August 26th to September 26th. It's now time to get ready for the second round starting on October 28th. 

Overclockers will have to compete over three stages in order to accumulate the points necessary to put them at the top of Round 2, the points will also go towards the overall ranking: 

  • Stage 1: XTU 
  • Stage 2: Reference Clock 
  • Stage 3: Y-cruncher 1B

In term of prizes, the top three overclockers will win fantastic prizes such as the Rampage V Edition 10 motherboard, Strix RX 480 & 460 graphics cards, Seasonic PSUs and thermal paste from Thermal Grizzly. 



For this second round, we added an exclusive prize that will be awarded to the overclockers with the least percentage points overall compare to the winner. This "Underdog prize" includes a Z170I Pro gaming motherboard as well as an exclusive ROG OC t-shirt. 

Just the same as Round 1, three lucky package prizes will be awarded to participants. 

RealBench Challenge III starts on October 28th 

The RealBench Challenge, is divided into four challenges. First and second rounds are now complete, and overclockers are getting ready for the third, running from October 28th to November 7th.

This competition is simple: One benchmark, one stage. To join, you need to download the RealBench HWBOT Edition benchmark, run the benchmark and submit your score. Be aware, Challenge III will be limited to two cores enabled (Hyper-Threading allowed). For more info on how to do so, you can visit the dedicated forum thread


The last challenge of the series will start on November 25th and will run until December 5th. 

The top three in the overall ranking will win a next generation ROG motherboard! 

Once RealBench Challenge and ROG OC Showdown are complete, and the winners awarded, a final ranking will be established in order to crowned the ROG OC Showdown and RealBench Challenge 2016 champions. 


The points from each stage plus additional points awarded throughout the competitions will be added up for each of the overclockers.

The top three overclockers from ROG OC Showdown will each win a next generation of ROG motherboard, an Open Benchtable and a Delid-Die-Mate tool. The perfect panoply for an overclocker! 

For the RealBench Challenge, another top three overclockers will each be awards a next generation of ROG motherboard!
