Republic of Gamers Announces G701VI
It began with the ROG G20, then GT51 and other laptops followed by upgrading to NVIDIA Pascal graphics cards, now it's ROG G701VI's turn! This beast of a laptop was already VR-ready at a time when only a select few made the cut. Seems like a long time ago, but in actual fact it was only less than three months ago when the highly-anticipated Pascal cards made it into laptops. How things have changed, almost overnight (ok, more like the past two years) laptop graphics cards have finally become comparable to their desktop counterparts, with the new Pascal cards it's now within 10% of the performance! Prepare yourself for a laptop with desktop-like performance - literally!
On the exterior the Bio-Armor styling of ROG G701VI is consistent with the other high-end ROG laptops. The brushed metal finish sporting the Titanium Armor & Plasma Copper color scheme, the illuminating ROG logo, and the transparent cover (much like an exotic sports car) allowing you to see the thermal module inside can make you feel proud to have an unmistakable allegiance to an elite group of gaming and hardware enthusiasts.
Beneath the premium finish, G701VI is powered by Intel Core i7 processor - the quad-core 6700HQ or the unlocked 6820HK for overclocking, paired with up to 64GB of 2400MHz DDR4 memory (20 percent faster and 30 percent more energy efficient than 1600MHz DDR3).
To make proper use of the world’s first laptop to incorporate a 120Hz display panel with G-SYNC, there is the overclockable NVIDIA GTX 1080. Desktop monitors have had it for a while now, it's about time laptops get the ultra-fast refresh rate treament! There's enough graphics power for a triple-monitor setup here, luckily there is Trinity Display Technology so actually you can using HDMI 2.0, USB 3.1 Type-C and mini-DisplayPort ports!
Gamers will have precise control with 30-key rollover technology on the anti-ghosting backlit keyboard, amazing audio from the same built-in ESS Sabre ES9018K2M Hi-Fi DAC (digital-to-analog converter) as the Maximus VIII Extreme/Assembly and amplifier, and instant access to the all-new ROG Gaming Center, macros and gameplay recording via dedicated hotkeys.
ROG G701VI has an incredibly thin 32.5mm profile which is less than two thirds the thickness of a G752!
