ASUS GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II OC Unboxing

We just got the details on the reference version of this card a few weeks ago, and now a sample of the overclocked DirectCU II version arrived on my desk so I figured one last hurrah with this monster was in order!

The GTX 780 is obviously the most powerful single-GPU card in the NVIDIA 700 series, and ASUS as per protocol offers much more beyond reference. This one has a fast core, an all-new DirectCU II cooler with nice-looking racing stripes. the CoolTech combo fan with two sets of blades for extra airpower, DIGI+ VRM, Super Alloy Power, and GPU Tweak. That's a long list.

Fitting, as this is a long card at over 11", but you get a lot of power, packing a pleasant 3GB GDDR5 at 6GHz and a 384-bit interface.

Happy gaming and all the best!

Here's a closer look at the CoolTech fan with its two sets of blades.

Standard DirectCU fan, which is still much quieter than a reference fan.

Nice heatpipes, plenty of outputs, and a tough backplate. You will need a 6-pin and an 8-pin to drive this card so check your PSU before you upgrade!
