Gallery: ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II Unboxing
ASUS has given the GTX 780 the DirectCU II treatment, and this one features the latest dual-slot design with CoolTech fan. We've unboxed the card so you can see what get, when you buy, as well as a full-show of graphics card close-ups too! The box front.
And back lists all the functions like DirectCU II, Super Alloy Power and GPU Tweak.
When you get inside it's safely packed.
SLI cable, 8-pin power adapter and GPU Tweak/driver disk.
The GTX 780 DirectCU II!
On the back there's a plastic protective cover.
Remember to peel it off before you use the card!
Nice and shiny vented aluminum rear bracket protects the components underneath and provides strength to the PCB.
Rear connectors include Display Port, HDMI and two DVI outs (one DVI-D and one DVI-I that can be adapted to VGA).
The large heatpipes have direct contact with the GPU core.
A wider view of the side on you can see it's dual slot.
8-pin and 6-pin power is required. Red/green LEDs will tell you if the connection is good.
The twin fans: one CoolTech and the second standard fan.
The Cooltech fan sits over the GPU core and provides more airflow so it runs cooler.
As per every DirectCU card, Super Alloy Power hardware with DIGI+ VRM upgrades give better power regulation. Also note the large white bars behind the power connectors: protective fuses against power spikes.
Side-on that's one meaty heatpipe!
The brace-bracket keeps the PCB straight and the rear I/O in-line. Perfect for LAN PCs that go travelling with you.
