Koolance Releases AMD R9 290X Water Block
While AMD's Radeon R9 290X reference cooler is certainly doing its job in keeping the GPU pretty cool, we've seen a lot of commentators online are still waiting for something more. The ASUS DirectCU II parts are due soon, but if you want an upgrade now and fancy splashing out then Koolance has just launched its Koolance VID-AR290X; a full cover water block designed for the Radeon R9 290X graphics card.
Based on a high-performance micro-fin (0.5mm) design of solid copper with anti-corrosive nickel-plating, the new VID-AR290X full cover water block will certainly keep the GPU and VRM temperatures at much lower levels than the reference cooler. It weighs 0.91kg, features standard G1/4 BSPP threading and can be used in both single and CrossFireX configurations with the appropriate adapters.
No word yet from Koolance on whether it fits the R9 290 (non-X), although both PCBs are identical.
The Koolance R9 290X VID-AR290X water block is currently available from Koolance.com, priced at US $129.99. If you're watercooling your ROG system - drop us some pictures in our forums!
