New XTU World Record & Maximus VIII Extreme Motherboard Gets 4 Global First Places
Dancop broke the World Record for the XTU benchmark with a score of 3164 marks! Quite amazing considering the cap of 3000 points was incredibly hard to reach a just few months ago. To be able to go so high in performance, Dancop used the ROG Rampage V Extreme paired with an Intel Core i7-5960X.
der8auer kept pushing the performance of the Z170 series motherboards with four new Global First Places (GFP) in the 4 cores category on HWBOT.org with the Maximus VIII Extreme.
Just last week, der8auer reached the fastest CPU frequency with an Intel Core i7-6700K! Cinebench R11.5, Cinebench R15, wPrime 32M and wPrime 1024M no longer bother him especially with the i7-6700K that can reach 4.8 GHz on air cooling.
One of the other tricks to reach the best performance on an LGA 1151 CPU is to replace the original thermal paste between the DIE and IHS with a better one by delidding it (warnings on this process).
Let's have a look at the submissions!
XTU - 3164 marks with Intel Core i7 5960X @ 5980MHz
Cinebench R11.5 - 16.37 points with Intel Core i7 6700K @ 6615MHz
Cinebench R15 - 1468 cb with Intel Core i7 6700K @ 6603MHz
wPrime 32M - 2sec 985ms with Intel Core i7 6700K @ 6642MHz
wPrime 1024M - 1min 35sec 829ms with Intel Core i7 6700K @ 6642MHz
