Xtreme_Addict Clinches 8 Hardware First Places on XTU with Maximus VII Impact & Rampage V Extreme
Xtreme_Addict decided to kill time by benching on Z97 and X99 platforms (what else did you think they would do?) before getting his hands on Z170. In total, Xtreme_Addict achieved 8 Hardware First Places. This means with a specific CPU, he achieved the best score in a specific benchmark. In 6 of his scores, he didn't even use an unlocked CPU (K). Core i5 and i7 both utilized LN2 to achieved the best results.
System Spec
Motherboard: Maximus VII Impact / Rampage V Extreme
CPU: Haswell and Haswell-E CPU -> i5 4440/4460/4570/4690/4670K - i7 4770/4790/5930K
Memory: G.skill DDR3
We interviewed Xtreme_Addict about his scores:
"The truth is I am still waiting for better Skylake availability, so now I bench some HW points. My choice focused on locked Haswell LGA 1150 and for that Maximus VII Impact appeared to be the best choice. After G.skill World Cup Qualifier no one has doubts that M7I is the best choice for high BCLK and tight sub-timings of memories, especially Powerchips.
Normally I buy all the CPUs from shops and this time I was really lucky with i5 4460 and i5 4570, cause those were my first ones and are not maxed out yet. Other CPUs were not as strong as competitors, but very tight G.skill PSC memories on LN2 helped. If CPU got good IMC, I was able to run over 2800 6-10-6-22 1T easy. The hardest part was to find a good i7 4670K, cause we all know that the old, scaling batches are almost impossible to get! New batches of Haswell-E processors are overall really high clockers, but still I had to check few pieces to find one with good UNCORE and cold tolerance. I hope to produce few more Gold Cups before I start playing LGA 1151 platform."
