Overclocking World Records

Engineers and renowned overclockers join forces to demonstrate extreme-tuning technologies and technical prowess at the OC Main Event in San Francisco

San Francisco, USA (12 September, 2013) —At the OC Main Event in San Francisco, co-hosted by ASUS, Corsair® and Intel®, the ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard was used to break five overclocking world records.

Combining the Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard with ASUS GeForce® GTX Titan graphics cards, the latest 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7 Extreme Edition processors and Corsair Vengeance® Extreme and Dominator® Platinum DDR3 memory, world-renowned members of the international overclocking community worked with ROG engineers to claim new top scores with the 3DMark® 11Entry, 3DMark® 11 Performance, 3DMark® Fire Strike, Cinebench, and quad-channel memory frequency.

"We are proud that previous ASUS X79 motherboards have dominated overclocking rankings by breaking 26 world records since the chipset launch," said Jackie Hsu, ASUS Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Worldwide Sales, Open Platform Business Group. Five world records set by a formidable overclocking force

ASUS invited world-leading members of the overclocking community — 8 Pack, Dumo, Fugger, Gunslinger, and Rbuass— to team up with ROG engineers Coolice, Raja and Shamino, to create a formidable overclocking force. This crack overclocking squad used their unique knowledge and experience, to push the hardware to its very limits.

8 Pack, Gunslinger, Rbuass and Shamino focused on the demanding 4-way SLI™ 3DMark® benchmarks, claiming world-record scores of E38231 in Entry, P38227 in Performance and 32268 in Fire Strike.

Meanwhile, Fugger and Raja chalked up a new world-record in Cinebench of 17.65 pts in the six cores category.

In co-operation with Corsair®, Coolice and Dumo overclocked four Vengeance® Extreme DDR3 DIMMs to 3,900MHz to achieve a new world record in quad-channel frequency.
