Anandtech Reviews The ASUS Crosshair V Formula And Sabertooth 990FX
Anandtech recently went back to the AMD 990FX chipset and rounded up a half dozen motherboards to test, in order to find out which was the best for your AMD FX CPU. ROGers who already own the Crosshair V Formula will probably not be surprised at the result, as both the C5F and the Sabertooth 990FX were singled out as top boards for the platform:
" If I was a gamer, the ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula would be my major priority - as it was the board AMD prioritized for Bulldozer release, it is tweaked to run as best as it can. For fan control and performance, nothing comes close to the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX.
...If I were to take one, money no object, then I would plunge for one of the ASUS boards."
Pretty conclusive then! If you want an AMD board - buy ASUS.
