ASUS Announces Designo MX27AQ WQHD LCD Monitor
ASUS Designo MX27AQ is a 27-inch, WQHD (2560 x 1440) LCD monitor with stereo speakers powered by a combination of ICEpower, a Bang & Olufsen technology, a MobileSound 3 chip and ASUS SonicMaster tuning. ASUS' AudioWizard is actually built in to the monitor itself, with four pre-set audio modes (Music, Movie, Gaming, User) that can be accessed through an on-screen display (OSD) menu.
As a large surface, arguably the first thing you'll notice on someone's desk is their monitor, which is why if you appreciate design at home or need to make an impression in the office, it needs to be good looking. The MX series has this in spades, with the MX27AQ having recently picking up the 2015 iF Award for it's brushed metal style stand, an ultra-slim profile that measures just 1.25cm at its thinnest point and an edge-to-edge frameless panel with a bezel thickness of just 0.1cm.
On the display front - WQHD resolution provides up to 25% sharper images and 77% more onscreen space than similarly-sized Full HD displays (89 PPI versus 109 PPI). The appeal to professional and pro-sumers extends beyond the outer design as the MX27AQ features an 'advanced high performance in-plane switching' (AH-IPS) panel that delivers 100M:1 smart contrast ratio and 100% sRGB color space, as well as 178-degree wide viewing angles to eliminate color shift when viewed from the side, like when you're showing friends or clients for example. ASUS QuickFit Virtual Scale is also built into the OSD software.
It's 5ms response is good enough for casual gaming and it even has ASUS GamePlus inside too. ASUS Eye Care with anti-flicker and blue-light filter technologies are also built in.
