ASUS Announces RT-AC88U
This is the year 2015 (what's left of it), where an average person has the patience of a five-year-old from from 1980s - a time when people still memorized everyone else's phone numbers, a time before we all got connected 24/7. We may not know any phone numbers at all anymore - including our own. But it doesn't matter, because we have gadgets now to do such mundane tasks for us. We don't even think about where internet comes from. All we need to know is that when we open a webpage - it needs to open instantly, online games are smooth and uninterrupted, and the bathroom isn't the Bermuda Triangle for my precious gadgets. Life without internet is now unfathomable, even so, one of the most underappreciated gadgets today just may be a router. For something you use everyday, ASUS RT-AC88U is a must have, not because you can notice the great performance but more so the lack thereof before you had one.
To allow everyone under one roof to talk to each other you need great internet coverage, and fast connection to all devices simultaneously. This way everyone will be at the dinner table before the food gets cold (hopefully), yelling is just not civilized. RT-AC88U uses Broadcom NitroQAM (1024-QAM) technology to boost maximum Wi-Fi speeds on both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequency bands (Dual-band) by up to 25% (5GHz speeds from 1734Mbit/s to 2167Mbit/s, and 2.4GHz speeds from 800Mbit/s to 1000Mbit/s). This gives RT-AC88U a combined total data speed of up to 3167Mbit/s for really extravagant dinner invitation messages in a hurry, while somebody's in the bathroom streaming a TV show in 4K, somebody else is streaming music in lossless-audio quality, while another room sounds like a war zone, so nobody could hear you even if you yelled.
This 802.11ac wireless router has four powerful antennas, configured in a 4x4 (four-transmit, four-receive) MIMO design on both bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz). Exclusive ASUS AiRadar uses universal beamforming technology to focus the wireless signal towards devices for faster connections with greater stability.
The person in the house who cares about the router the most is probably you, so what does ASUS RT-AC88U offer you and your favorite games? Well this here is the world’s first router with a built-in gaming accelerator powered by the Gamers Private Network (GPN) from WTFast for the ultimate low-ping gaming experience. GPN can reduce average game ping times by 30-60%, lower average speed deviations by 70-90%, and cut bad router hops by 70-90%, virtually all competitive multi-player online games are supported. There are 8 Gigabit LAN ports, so you don't need another switch for your devices or LAN parties at your place. There's support for 802.3ad Link Aggregation, which allows two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports to be combined into a super-fast 2Gbit/s wired connection!
