ASUS Announces Z170I Pro Gaming
Today ASUS announced Z170I Pro Gaming, a Mini-ITX gaming motherboard which retains all the features, functionality and performance you would expect from a motherboard that is around a third of the size of a full E-ATX motherboard. Despite the size, ASUS has worked magic with the trace topology and layout to pack in ASUS 5-Way Optimization for instant tuning, Pro Clock for overclocking, and a 4-phase power delivery system for incredible stability. Additionally SupremeFX audio with LED-illuminated shielding, Intel Gigabit Ethernet, LANGuard and GameFirst ensure smooth and immersive gameplay. There is even the latest 2x2 802.11ac Wi-Fi with all-new Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) onboard along with Bluetooth v4.1!

Small and compact packages such as these generally become much hotter than bigger boards due to how close everything is and the airflow, that is why meticulous planning and quality components are essential in order to achieve stability, and for Z170I Pro Gaming - even overclocking! Fully automatic fan profiling is also in place so you get a mini system that is quiet when you're watching movies if used as a home theater PC (HTPC), and stable even when you've cranked up the game display settings on your overclocked build.
For connectivity, there is support for SATA Express (can be used as two ports instead), SATA, USB 3.1 and also a PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 SSD which does not only offer greater performance (obviously), but also makes two cables redundant - the data and power cables if you were using SATA storage. Not a great difference for a full-size case, but for a tiny enclosure where there isn't much room even for fingers - it makes a world of difference.
Z170I Pro Gaming is based on the Intel Z170 Express chipset, ready for your 6th Gen. Intel processor for the LGA 1151 socket and DDR4 4000 (OC) memory for the two DIMMs available.
