OC3D 2014 Awards Strix Graphics And ROG Motherboards
The OC3D 2014 Awards have seen Strix and ROG hardware receive gold and performance awards in motherboard and graphics categories.
Graphics Cards: ASUS Strix GTX 980
"Everything about [the GTX 980] is quality and our favourite, although they're all brilliant, is the ASUS Strix."
Motherboards: Maximus VII Hero
"We could have awarded the Maximus VII Hero all of the awards given how incredible it was. It wasn't just the capabilities that left us agog, but the price too. The days when any RoG motherboard other than the Extreme variants weren't really worth the time are long gone, and it also says much about the qualities of the Intel chipset that ASUS could produce such an affordable offering that still overclocked like a lunatic and looked great too."
Motherboards: Rampage V Extreme
"We could hardly do a roundup of our best of the year without including the X99 Rampage V Extreme. Equipped to handle the insane performance available from the Core i7-5960X it had everything you would expect to find on the premium Republic of Gamers offering. We particularly enjoyed the OC Socket that, rumour has it, forced Intel back to the drawing board having already unlocked the performance that their next refresh would have brought. No matter how you slice it the Rampage V Extreme is an amazing piece of kit."
