We all know the new GeForce RTX 4080 offers a great leap over the GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, but ASUS adds its usual magic touch to the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 OC Edition. Fantastic performance out of the box with 2.9GHz+ boost clocks and overclocking past 3.0GHz isn't hard (but you won't get much more performance).

Cooling performance is the real differentiator when comparing custom cards from AIB partners. With a higher boost clock right out of the box, it’s no surprise that these cards’ GPU chips draw more power than NVIDIA's reference Founders Edition card. It's also no surprise to see the GPU chip on the ROG Strix, with a higher boost clock, drawing the most power out of the three cards.

The cooling is quiet, keeps all components at low temperatures, and those who want to play around with the card a bit will also find more leeway in the power limit via the P-BIOS.
