The 32” ROG Swift PG32UQXE is loaded with luxuries for discerning gamers
By Paul Cross
The new ROG Swift PG32UQXE gaming monitor includes a laundry list of high-end features that drive the fastest refresh rates and reproduce the most vibrant colors at a price tailored to fervent enthusiasts looking for value.
At its heart, the PG32UQXE centers on many of the same specifications as ROG’s ultra-high-end PG32UQX. And of course, when cutting-edge technology is refined, everyone wins. Both models share an expansive 32” panel, a 4K native resolution, mini-LED backlighting with full-array local dimming (FALD), NVIDIA G-SYNC Ultimate certification, and a quantum-dot layer that helps reproduce the most vivid, saturated colors you’ve ever seen.
The PG32UQXE even boasts a couple of extras the flagship doesn’t have. It sports a slightly faster overclockable 160Hz refresh rate, which translates to smoother action and the potential for quicker response times in competitive games. It also includes the NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer to measure end-to-end system latency when paired with an NVIDIA Reflex mouse. And it gets an HDMI 2.1 port, giving PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X owners a chance to enjoy 4K using a 120Hz refresh and the best image quality.
Mini-LED technology takes another step forward in the PG32UQXE
We’ve come a long way since introducing the world’s first 32” mini-LED gaming monitor one year ago. Beyond simply bringing down the cost of several premium capabilities, the PG32UQXE also benefits from AUO’s brand new Adaptive mini-LED (AmLED) panel tech. It’s explicitly optimized for gamers (and their budgets), while still delivering a peak brightness specification of 1000 nits—more than three times that of typical displays, according to VESA. AmLED uniquely maintains its dazzle, even in well-lit rooms that might otherwise overwhelm an OLED-based panel.
The PG32UQXE also boasts exceptional contrast. Its FALD backlight controls each of 576 LED zones independently, creating high dynamic range between those brilliant whites and the inky black tones produced by local dimming. Don’t just take our word for it, though. DisplayHDR 1000-validated performance means you get a maximum black level luminance of 0.05 nits (in addition to a minimum peak luminance of 1000 nits).
A layer of quantum dot nanoparticles placed on top of the mini-LED backlight supercharges the PG32UQXE’s gamut, covering 97% of the DCI-P3 cinema-standard color space. Quantum dot technology inherently maintains its stunning color performance at any brightness level. And the advanced AmLED panel resists burn-in or luminance decay. So, you can count on the PG32UQXE to deliver stunning visuals from any angle, in any ambient environment, no matter how long you leave it turned on.
The ROG Swift PG32UQXE equips gamers for victory
If you’re a competitive gamer looking for a leg up, the PG32UQXE’s specifications read like a bulleted wish list. But if we were going to pick key highlights to focus on, they’d be the 4K resolution, 160Hz OC refresh rate, and G-SYNC Ultimate distinction and NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer.
While high-resolution monitors are nothing new, graphics cards able to render triple-digit frame rates at 4K are a more recent phenomenon. The ROG Swift PG32UQXE is perfect for gamers with these potent GPUs, particularly if they’re playing the fast-paced shooters that reward high refresh rates. In that genre (and those like it), an overclocked 160Hz refresh rate gets 11% more information to your eyes every second than a 144Hz panel, making it a little more likely that you can react before your opponent.
Even if your graphics card can’t keep up with the PG32UQXE’s blazing-fast refresh rate, G-SYNC technology synchronizes the monitor’s refresh rate to the GPU’s output, creating the smoothest animation possible. Satisfying the G-SYNC Ultimate program’s rigorous testing means there’s no stuttering, no tearing, no flicker, and no artifacts. And because we use NVIDIA’s very latest G-SYNC processor to control the AmLED panel, the PG32UQXE’s variable refresh range is unrestricted between 1Hz and 160Hz.
The ROG Swift PG32UQXE can also use the built-in NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer to quickly check end-to-end latency. All it takes is a compatible mouse connected to the monitor and a quick trip into the on-screen display. Thanks to this convenient tool, gamers can observe latency in real time, allowing them to make sure their rigs aren’t holding them back from reacting to the action as fast as their reflexes will allow.
Enjoy the very best experience from any gaming device
It’s an amazing time to be a gamer. Whether you play on a PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, all the modern platforms support 4K at high refresh rates. And The ROG Swift PG32UQXE is the perfect complement for any of them.
The PG32UQXE’s DisplayPort 1.4 interface is Display Stream Compression (DSC)-enabled. It uses visually lossless compression to drive 4K, HDR content at 160Hz through a single cable. We also added an HDMI 2.1 port for native 4K, 120Hz output on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Two more HDMI 2.0 ports and a built-in USB hub accommodate other playback devices and peripherals (like webcams) you want to run through the PG32UQXE.
We even calibrate the PG32UQXE for Delta E values under 2 before it ships, guaranteeing accurate color accuracy from one monitor to the next. So, whether you game on a PC or console, you can be confident that your ROG Swift display is true to life.
