Just because it says ballistic nylon doesn't mean a 4-month old Pit Bull Puppy can't chew the straps off of it...LOL! I was mad at first, but hey my dog is family too and it's just a backpack. Merry CHRISTmas and GOD Bless!

I'm going back to school in January. Will this backpack fit at least 2 or 3 text books and other school supplies in addition to the laptop? I had a laptop bag that "fit 17" and larger laptops" but apparently they didn't figure for one designed to be a low, sleek and log stealth fighter. Besides, I kept my MacBook Pro in it... I wouldn't want my G73JW to get mad at me.

Is anyone actually able to buy this through the estore? I add it to my cart just fine, but checking out invariably times out and the page won't load on any computer or any Internet connection I have tried...

I would love to have this for my system, but there is no way I can afford this at this time.
What a bummer.

I'm looking to buy the G73JW-A1. Do all of them come with the backpack and mouse? I see them in pictures, but not in the listings.

Thanks

Any way of getting these bags shipped to Norway?
I'm having a hard time finding a suitable bag for my G74, and will be using it for school so I really do need to get something to put it in.

I doubt it. Unfortunately the G73 backpack does not even fit the laptop itself that well, it rubs quite a bit even fitting it in the laptop pocket. Then once you load the power brick, mouse, and headphones there really isn't room for a lot else. The backpack was one of the specific reasons I chose the A1, but have been very disappointed in it.

I'd keep looking, there are much better bags out there.

Does anyone know when the G73 Backpack will be available in the European market? Or in Norway perhaps? I've contacted us.estore.asus.com and they do not ship to Europe =/

due to the sizing, think it would fit a G51 pretty good, or do you think it'd be too big?

I personally found no issues with the backpack. I used it for my senior year of high school, and I continue to use it for post-secondary. With my G73+power cable in the backpack, I was easily able to fit two text books or three binders, or some combination of the two. If I was able to do that with my large lappy, the G51 should provide no issues to storage in the backpack.

The only issue I did have, was mentioned by groo. I ended up rubbing some of the rubberized coating off of the edges of my G73 from constantly putting it in, and removing it from the backpack. If it was correctly packed, there was no issue, but if I just tried to shove the laptop in, I would have to force the zippers over the edge, causing that scrape.

Shouldn't be a problem with the 15" lappy though.

I can confirm that the Wengar Pegasus *will* hold a G74S. Someone mentioned that it does not actually fit inside the sleeve, but does fit in the laptop compartment. It's a SwissGear product, and seems reasonably well made, but since it was literally the only backpack I could find locally that would fit this monster, and I just got it about an hour ago, I can't really speak to the pack's durability.

at Amazon (for reference) (http://www.amazon.com/PEGASUS-SwissGear-Wenger-Computer-Backpack/dp/B000FQ8E3Y), although I picked mine up at Office Depot.

Does the ASUS ROG G2 (http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=908) Backpack fit the G74? Or does the other .3 inches matter that much?

Interesting thread. I didn't see much info about the level of protection these bags afford a somewhat fragile $1,000+ piece of electronics. I can see using a backpack for ease of transport but not for protecting my expensive new laptop.

Does the backpack bag even offer half the protection of a quality laptop hard case such as this? Seriously, I'd like to know.

I purchased the G74SX-DH71 which comes with the ROG mouse and backpack on Amazon last week; the DH71 fits, however, it's quite snug. I was hoping for a bit more room to carry my mouse and headphones.

Does the zipper rub on it and damage the finish at all when you force it into the backpack?

Negative, however, you do have to pull the zipper over the corners of the laptop. Once you pull them over they do not rub on the finish.

Is there any new update on the G73 backpack that will come in store to Norway?

Or is it only possible to buy the product online?
