I have the G752VSK OC model with the 302 bios. (238 chipset, 7820HK)

You have the G752VS with (7th Gen CPU), therefore you should be using the 304 bios. (238 chipset, 7700HQ)

I agree, it is confusing.

Here is what you do, Download the latest BIOS From Asus Support Download (https://www.asus.com/support/Download-Center/) you need to register your notebook and then you will get the exactly correct driver update etc for your notebook.

Uninstall Asus upgrade tool, winflash has bricked so many notebooks over the year it's just not safe to use. you don't need it for anything go get your own drivers for your specific notebook, or pay the price.

The ASUS support page having my registered G752VSK OC Edition laptop offers two models, G752VS and G752VSK. The bios for the G752VS is 310 while the bios of the G752VSK is 302. The poster, Oktanio has a very good point. Your option, using registered device page is still a crap shoot in this case.

Oktanio's laptop is another animal all together, it's a G752VSK but not the OC Edition and has the 304 bios.

I agree, WinFlash sucks, but in this case it at least identifies his installed bios (304) and refuses to install bios (302). What's truly BAD is that WinFlash doesn't recognize the 302 bios is not even for his laptop (238 chipset and 7700HQ CPU).

This is a major ASUS support screwup. ASUS should develop three different support pages for the three different G752VS models (two of which are labeled G752VSK).

I will never install a bios update via operating system I know this
Also a make a Google search on this

Here is the funniest part of the story
A month ago I have make the registration via sn
And always I was having error that the sn don't exist for the site :(
I call the support on my country (Greece ) with zero results 'try again later I try it every day with the same result
So I call in USA Asus support and the make the registration via sn
Now my product registration was ok :)
Till here all ok so today after you suggest I enter in my account I click on "My Product" and the page message is: Dear ASUS Uuer Due to the server is now busy'..............ok I wait
A few hours later let's try again same message
I try on opera/Firefox/is/chrome all same result
After a Google search in XDA forum a user suggest to use the app on smartphone and Viola it work but on PC browsers still the same error.........O.o
Now in app all ok
But I laugh... the sn was correct image was correct but on specs I have the CM236 Chipset and the 6700hq cpu

For the driver the app suggest to use the THIRD OPTION ON DRIVER SITE G752VS (not the G752VS (Intel 7th Gen.) Or of model
this one that i have G752vsk model that gives me the 302 bios
VSK (CM236)

Ok I donwload the drivers and i became crazy error incompatibility error on drivers not all but a few

Then I remember the eSupport file let's check drivers version number to see with Wich driver we have already installed
And the results the program download drivers for the
G752VS (Intel 7th Gen.) Option with out the *VSK*

Asus support is a crap

I apologise for my bad English
Is not my native language

Confused as to what ASUS laptop you have? Download Belarc Advisor. It's a free download and will correctly identify what model you have and what bios is currently installed. This program will provide a wealth of information about your system. However, I don't know if there is a Greek language version. Download Belarc and try it.

Hi,

There are a few different ways to check this.

If you check which cpu you have, it will tell you which model you have, but can still be confusing because we can call them both the G752VS model although the G752VS with Kaby Lake cpu is often described as the G752VS (7th gen. cpu) or maybe less often the G752VSK model.

If you check the ASUS download page, there is a question mark next to the drop down menu as below which you can click on and pulls up the FAQ below which tells you how to check your bios model.
https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1030673
75075

My preference is to just check the bios model through the bios EZ flash utility or through Winflash (although you need to load a bios file before you can see which one you have).

Not sure if there will ever be any problems to check this way, but yes, often if you check under the notebook for the full model name under the serial number area, it will normally tell you the bios model too as in the screenshot from Oktanio's unit below.

Hope it's okay to continue this discussion, but if you check your screenshot again, Winflash reported the 302 bios was older than your 304 bios and not that you should use the older 302 bios for your model.

It's probably confusing because we haven't posted the G752VSK 304 bios to the ASUS download site yet for whatever reason (I haven't heard why or looked into it more).

Again, hope it's okay to explain more to try and clear up the confusion regarding this.
Not sure if anybody is interested, but to get an idea about the differences in the bios files, you can mouse over the download button (or just download the bios files to compare filenames) as in the screenshot below to check the file name in the bottom left-hand corner which I can see is the same G752VSK (or G752VS 7th gen cpu) 302 bios file (G752VSKAS302.zip) posted under both the G752VS OC Edition (7th Gen. cpu) and G752VS (7th gen. cpu) /G752VSK download pages, so basically you would conclude both these models use the same bios.

Agree it's probably safer to flash with the bios utility rather than Winflash, but haven't seen problems myself using it.
Anyway, don't want anybody to underestimate the usefulness of Winflash even though it may have some minor flaws.

If you check the screenshot from Oktanio's unit below, you can see Winflash has confirmed the currently installed bios is the G752VSK 0304 bios and the 'new' bios the customer is trying to flash is the G752VSK 0302 bios.
Winflash correctly reports the 'new' bios is actually an older version and does not allow the customer to 'downgrade' their bios.

So from just this page I know which bios model the customer has (G752VSK) and that they found the correct (G752VSK) bios from the website, but it is an older version (0302).
If the G752VS (6th gen. cpu) bios file was loaded by mistake, Winflash would list the model as the G752VS rather than the G752VSK and report the model is incorrect, so it can be a good way to confirm if you are using the correct bios file for your model.

Hope this makes sense and clears up some confusion regarding this.

Belarc Advisor will list all needed information in this matter, no confusion!

What is confusing is ASUS having developed two different laptops with the same identifying labels (G752VSK) attached to the back of the laptops. Both G752VSK models have different bios (304 for the G752VSK with 7700 CPU and 302 for the G752VSK with 7820 CPU). Want to bet that these two bios are not compatible with one another?

This type of confusion could be a disaster....

Yes the BIOS is different because the CPU's are different, this is not uncommon, we have the same with G752 VY toward the end of there production they upgraded the CPU & GPU Which got me a real good deal on the production just before the upgrades.

Dear User cl-Albert by order i will answer
1 my CPU model is i7700HQ and a CM238 chipset according system manager

2 ""If you check the ASUS download page, there is a question mark next to the drop down menu as below which you can click on and pulls up

the FAQ below which tells you how to check your bios model.""

in asus download page the G752VSK model according to your image is a model with different CPU and different chipset

3 after checking my Winflash he is recommend to use the G752VS 7th Gen version model bios "pic below"

4 yes you are correct my unit sticker label tells me G752VSK model

according to label G752VSK is my model

according to e-Support Folder checking drivers version he downloads driver for the G752VS 7th Gen version

Acording to Winflash i must use the bios 302 2017/06/20 from G752VS 7th Gen version third middle option in asus site ?

Now according my S/N also after calling the Asus support in Greece i must use the G752VSK model driver and bios {third option in site }

i have make also a mistake and this that i flash a bios without checking my previous version before flashing

so what if the win flash is not correct to use the G752VS 7th Gen version middle option in asus site and i damage my unit

Who i can trust now the sticker label? Winflash? e-Esuport file? for sure the bios are different or not ? and why my unit accept to flash a diferent bios version

in youtube have reports for the g752VS model what if all this damage to the laptop is made by this confusion users for the have flash wrong bios i will not be the only one

winflash G752vs model ok 302 bios version ok the system allow the installation but date is different

Hi,

I'm actually an ASUS employee at the U.S. office if it matters, but don't always have all the answers about what HQ is doing or thinking with the bios files.
I may need to re-check your questions, or feel free to let me know if there are still any unanswered questions, but feel like you may be making it a little more complicated than it needs to be although can understand our support site may be part of the reason for that.

Anyyway, hope you can agree that all your information shows you have the G752VS with 7th gen cpu which is also known as the G752VSK, so you want to use this bios and not the bios for the G752VS with 6th gen. cpu. I wouldn't be concerned about the chipset myself.
Not sure where you found the G752VSK (also known as the G752VS with 7th gen. cpu) 304 bios, but if you have the link, let me know. Otherwise, guessing it may have been preinstalled from the factory possibly.
Yes, was wondering why the same 302 bios version would have different release dates since it's not very normal to see this, but if nobody is reporting any issues or differences, guessing it is probably just the same bios version with different release dates, so would not worry about it more. Feel free to look into it more or discuss more with others if you wish of course.
As you noticed, Winflash (or bios EZ flash) does not even allow you to flash the correct bios model with the same or older bios version and would not let you flash the bios for a different or the wrong model.
Winflash does not tell you which bios version you need to use though.
It just tells you the bios model and bios version you have. If you try to flash a bios file that you should not be using, it will tell you this too, but you are deciding which bios file you want to flash.

Anyway, wondering if you are seeing any problems or differences between the G752VSK 0304 and G752VSK 0302 bios versions?
If everything is okay with the G752VSK 0302 bios, don't know that I would worry about it much more.
Feel free to discuss more with me or others if anything is still unclear.
Thanks.

I check again
G752VS OC Edition. 302 Bios downloaded
G752VS 7th Gen. 302 Bios downloaded
G752VS -. Not have a 302 bios download link
\G752VSK 302Bios downloaded

On the Asus site the have all the same build date 2017/06/20
But I put all of the in a fat32 USB drive and I try only to read the bios file
And the show me build number 04/27/17
I can confirm 100% this
I try to only Read all of them all bios files
Read option is available before flash ing
That why win flash can't confirm the bios
The ADM on Asus site have make a mistake someone need to inform this to Asus !
What if by mistake the admin on the site delete all bios version and he upload 302Bios 04/27/17 build number
And delete the 302Bios 06/20/17

Anyone can read the bios files that have wrong build number

G752VS OC Edition. 302 Bios downloaded
G752VS 7th Gen. 302 Bios downloaded
G752VS -. Not have a 302 bios download link
\G752VSK 302Bios downloaded

Yes, if you check the bios filenames for the G752VS OC Edition. 302 Bios, G752VS 7th Gen. 302 bios and G752VSK 302 bios, they are all the same bios filename, so all these models use the same bios.
Believe the G752VS OC Edition download page may include different software downloads though.

Finally found the 304 bios under the G752VS 7th gen. cpu download page though.

Anyway, to keep it simple, just follow the steps below to flash the latest bios version for your G752VSK.

Confirm your bios model which is G752VSK in this case or the G752VS 7th gen. cpu model.
Find/download the latest bios version which appears to be 0304 under the G752VS 7th gen. cpu download page.
Flash this bios if you wish.

By the way the date you see posted on the ASUS download site is normally just the date the file was posted to the download site and not the build date although according to your screenshots it does appear there may be a G752VSK 302 bios with 2 different build dates which I don't believe is a problem.
If you plan to just use the latest G752VSK 0304 bios version though, I would not spend time worrying about the 302 bios anymore. Thanks.

Your Winflash screenshot and other information already tells us you should be using the G752VSK bios.
You don't really need to do more comparison unless you want to, but the 304 bios version is the latest if you wish to use it.

Unfortunately, not sure what is the difference between the 302 or 304 bios versions and if you will even notice any difference, but feel free to share if you have any information. Thanks for your interest in ASUS products!

You're completely right Oktanio, they are displaying the wrong BIOS on the Asus site. I had major errors with this & I remember having a debate with jdFrench over this in the past https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?100322-G752VSK-Update-BIOS-Selected-file-not-a-proper-BIOS-file.

Info is lacking on this subject out there, be sure to download many versions of the BIOS; as Asus are wrong, I contacted them to notify the wrong version is displayed on their website 1.5 years ago, still not fixed it!

I'm running BIOS version 304 on my G752VSK and it's ok but not perfect. Since owning the computer I've never managed to get the Thunderbolt 3.1 working. Yes I've opened quite a few threads on this topic but just haven't managed to crack it.
