My cursor becomes jumpy sometimes and unresponsive. Is this because of the fading(Shiny) of my touchpad or could be something else?

Have you tried to update your touchpad driver?

Okey, did this behave like your describing like that before you updated it ?

EDIT: Which touchpad brand do you have Synaptics or Sentelic?

Yes it was like this before I updated it. I thought updating the driver would fix the problem but it didn't. I have synaptics btw.

Just have to ask, which version do you have now?

I'm on the stock driver version 15.1.18.0 and mine works fine, hmm

Can you provide a little history to this behavior? Specifically.....

How long after you got the laptop did it start doing this?
Is it constant or intermittent? If intermittent, how often does it happen?
Is it better after a re-start, or after it's been off for awhile?
Does the behavior persist regardless of driver? As a test of this, you can completely uninstall the Synaptics driver and let Windows install its own generic driver at the next restart. Use the generic driver for a few days to evaluate the touchpad jumpiness.

The point of all the questions? The pattern of the behavior can help indicate whether it's a hardware or software problem.

Hello! finally a fellow singaporean! ha!

Anyway, fading shiny surface? The trackpad sort of like sand off after prolonged usage?
